Maternal medical conditions

Some women embark on pregnancy with a pre-existing medical condition that requires additional planning and monitoring during pregnancy.

We see women with a wide range of medical conditions, including renal disease, high blood pressure, autoimmune disease, chronic viral hepatitis, blood disorders, epilepsy, and organ transplant recipients.  We provide specialist physicians in obstetric medicine, cardiology, haematology, infectious diseases, endocrinology and anaesthetics, as well as an integrated ultrasound and fetal assessment service within the clinic.

We also encourage women with chronic medical conditions to seek advice before falling pregnant, so that we can help them start pregnancy in the best possible health on the safest medication regime.
