Preventable Stillbirth at Twilight

Summary

Stillbirth is a global human tragedy, with 2.6 million lives lost to stillbirth every year. One in 130 pregnancies in Australia end in stillbirth. Effective interventions to reduce stillbirth is arguably one of the most important public health priorities, as demonstrated by the recent call for public submissions to the Senate Select Committee on Stillbirth Research and Education.

Please join us for an evening with national experts in the field including Professor Vicky Flenady, Professor Sailesh Kumar and Dr Glenn Gardener from the Stillbirth Centre of Research Excellence. Together, they will cover:

• - Pearls from the Lancet Stillbirth Series
• - Can Dopplers identify fetuses at increased risk of stillbirth?
• - Reduced fetal movements: what do they mean and what should we do about it?
