Is it possible to give too much of a good thing? Come and hear the latest thinking on antenatal and postnatal corticosteroids from our fabulous speakers and expert panel. This seminar will be of great interest to obstetricians, midwives, neonatologists, neonatal nurses and researchers alike!

Speakers and topic

  • Dr Brett Manley: ‘What's new with postnatal steroids to prevent bronchopulmonary dysplasia?’ Brett is a Consultant Neonatologist at the Royal Women's Hospital, and a Senior Lecturer at The University of Melbourne. Brett has spearheaded international trials on respiratory support for preterm infants, and is a leader in this field. He is a wonderful speaker, and for Twilight he will be addressing the 'when, what and how' of postnatal steroids and bronchopulmonary dysplasia.
  • A/Prof Joanne Said: ‘Antenatal steroids: friends or foe?’  Jo is the Head of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Sunshine Hospital and no stranger to Mercy Perinatal! She is a fabulous speaker and we are delighted that she has agreed to speak on the place of antenatal steroids in the preterm, late preterm and term settings. More harm than good? Come along and find out! 
  • Finally our MFM team and friends will address, ‘Other steroid controversies in clinical practice' in an interactive panel. Come and pick their brains in our interactive session!
