Dr Maya Reddy is an obstetrician gynaecologist and a certified sub-specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecological Ultrasound (COGU). Maya completed medical school at the University of Melbourne, and specialist and subspecialist training at Monash Health. She has also earned a PhD from Monash University with a focus on placental research and fetal growth disorders.
Maya also has a keen interest in fetal neurological disorders and has undertaken an international fellowship in fetal neurosonography at Sourasky Medical Centre in Tel Aviv, Israel. She has a public appointment at Monash Health and is a senior lecturer with Monash University.
Dr Karen Best (RN, RM, PhD) is a Principal Research Fellow at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) and Co-lead of Pregnancy and Newborn Health at SAHMRI Women and Kids. She is passionate about improving outcomes for women and their children through high quality clinical research and translating findings into clinical practice.
As a mid-career researcher with a unique breadth of experience in clinical midwifery, clinical trial management and academic proficiency, Karen has attracted more than $8.6 million as CI on Industry and NHMRC funded grants.
Professor Alicia Spittle is a physiotherapist, clinician researcher, and a current National Health Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Investigator Grant recipient, within the Melbourne School of Health Sciences (MSHS). She is chief investigator on the NHRMC Centre of Research Excellence in Newborn Medicine and CP-DRIVE and leads several grants focused on early detection and early intervention for infants at high-risk of neurodevelopmental impairments including infants born preterm and/or with cerebral palsy, including both MRFF (Medical Research Future Fund) and NHMRC grants.
She has received over $30 million in grant funding and has authored over 230 publications. In 2020, she was recognised as the top Australian researcher in paediatric medicine by The Australian newspaper, for the highest number of citations from papers published in the last five years in the top 20 journals in her field.
