Our speakers and topics
We will be holding an 'Express Twilight' giving a round-up of what we need in the toolkit for Management of Pregnant Women with COVID-19 in 2022.
Professor Paul Johnson, Professor of Infectious Diseases from the North Eastern Public Health Unit will give us an up-to-the-minute update on 'COVID-19 in 2022'. Many of you have heard Paul speak before- he is just brilliant, and always captures the essence of the rapidly changing landscape in this pandemic, and the priorities in public health response. This will be brilliant.
Then Professor Sue Walker will give an update on 'COVID-19 in Pregnancy: Taming the hurricane'. A quick update on vaccination safety (spoiler alert- it’s safe), outpatient and inpatient management, and staying sane 😊. This will be followed by a panel discussion including Paul, Sue, and
- Dr Kathy Paizis (Obstetric Physician) who is an expert in managing sick COVID patients in a maternity setting and
- A/Prof Alexis Shub (Obstetric Head of Perinatal Transfer and Retrieval) provides an expert perspective on rural challenges, transferring the sick and managing ED pressures
