Our speakers and topics
For ‘Controversies in Late Preterm Birth @ Twilight’ we have two fabulous speakers lined up for you.
- Associate Professor Joanne Said, Head of MFM at Western Health and leading perinatal academic at the University of Melbourne. Jo is no stranger to Twilight, and next Tuesday she is going to wade into the controversial role of steroids prior to late preterm or early term delivery. You might be surprised to hear the shaky evidence on which some of our practice is based, so thankfully Jo will be taking us through, ‘Steroids from 34-39 weeks: what, when and why?’.
- Professor Jeanie Cheong is based at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and the Royal Women’s Hospital. Jeanie is absolute royalty among neonatologists in the field of late preterm birth! She will pick up from the time of birth to walk us through ‘What gestation matters? Infant outcomes after late preterm birth’
- Finally, Sue will give a brief summary on exactly where the evidence sits with late preterm preeclampsia: ‘How much maternal benefit for how much infant risk? Early delivery vs expectant management for preeclampsia between 34-37 weeks’. Is it time for a changing of the guard?
And then over to you for questions!
