George has dual specialist qualifications in paediatrics and in clinical genetics. In addition to working at Mercy Perinatal, he has appointments at the Royal Women’s Hospital, the Victorian Clinical Genetic Service and co-leads the neurogenetics clinic at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
His areas of expertise and major research interests are in genetic conditions affecting the development of the human brain and in next generation genetic testing (genomic sequencing) in babies and children both before and after birth. He brings his extensive clinical experience and academic expertise in perinatal genetics to our general fetal medicine and fetal neurology clinics. With his unique skill set spanning fetal and paediatric medicine, he is able to provide continuity of genetics care for couples that are expecting a baby with a significant neurogenetic condition through pregnancy, in the newborn period and through follow up after birth.
