Prof. Lisa Hui is a maternal fetal medicine specialist with expertise in fetal medicine, genomics and prenatal screening. She has clinical appointments at the Mercy Hospital for Women, Heidelberg, and The Northern Hospital, Epping. She is the Director of Genetics at the Mercy Hospital for Women, which now delivers prenatal genetics services to the Northern Territory via telehealth.
Lisa leads the Reproductive Epidemiology group in the Genomic Medicine theme at the MCRI, as well as perinatal research groups at the University of Melbourne. She holds a Medical Research Futures Fund clinical investigator grant: "Closing the critical knowledge gaps in perinatal genomics".
Dr Kiarna Brown is a proud Territorian who is passionate about changing health outcomes for Aboriginal women and their babies. Kiarna is a dedicated Specialist Obstetrician Gynaecologist who shares her clinical time between both Royal Darwin Hospital and Darwin Private Hospital. She has recently had the privilege of accepting a Menzies Senior Research Fellow appointment.
Kiarna’s enthusiasm for Aboriginal Women’s Health is displayed in her role as a member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Women’s Health Committee. She has also become a local champion for reducing premature births through her role with the National Preterm Birth Prevention Alliance.
Dr. Meredith Hansen-Knarhoi is a remote medical practitioner working in the Northern Territory. She is passionate about women's health and goes beyond the role of an ordinary GP when caring for her patients. Meredith’s compassion, humanism and respect for culture sets a strong example for excellence in primary health care. She is leading a pilot study of government-funded NIPT for pregnant people in the Big Rivers region of the Northern Territory to improve access to prenatal screening options in the remote top end.
Alongside her clinical practice Meredith is a General Member of the RACGP NT Faculty Council elected advisory body to inform the RACGP Board and to represent the interests of college members in the Northern Territory.
Dr. Lilian Downie is a medical geneticist with a special interest in perinatal genetics and fetal medicine. She is the lead geneticist in Mercy Perinatal's fetal medicine clinic and has appointments at the Victorian Clinical Genetics Services and the Murdoch Children's Research Institute. She has expertise in all aspects of perinatal genetic testing, including noninvasive prenatal testing, fetal exome sequencing and genomic newborn screening.
