We were absolutely gutted to have to cancel a sold-out GOU at the Park Hyatt for 2020. But we’ve dusted ourselves off, and we know you need some GOU love this year- more than any year. So, we have a real treat in store for you!

We were absolutely gutted to have to cancel a sold-out GOU at the Park Hyatt for 2020. But we’ve dusted ourselves off, and we know you need some GOU love this year- more than any year. So, we have a real treat in store for you!
RegisterProfessor John Kingdom will be representing Canada and giving us an update on Fetal Growth Restriction: what’s new in 2020? John is the Head of the Placenta Clinic at Mt Sinai Hospital it Toronto and is an amazing speaker (some of you will remember him from our first GOU in 2015!).
Professor Vince Berghella is joining us from Philadelphia, where he is the Professor and Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Jefferson University. Professor Berghella is an exceptional researcher, teacher and speaker. He is Editor in Chief of the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology MFM, and you won’t want to miss his talk on ‘The Evidence Based Caesarean Section’. It’s something we do literally every day, but how often do we really consider the evidence base behind different incisions, sharp versus blunt dissection, antibiotics, antiseptics and more? This will be one of the best talks you will hear this year, so put the USA back on your travel itinerary for 2020 and join us on the 18th November.
Associate Professor Cathy Cluver Stellenbosch University, South Africa is one of your all time GOU favourites. Cathy worked with us at the Mercy in 2013, and she has been one of our favourite, most trusted international partners ever since. Cathy will be giving us another wonderful talk on Obstetrics, Cape Town style. As always, this will be pitched to clinicians at the coal face who have always loved Cathy’s talks. So incredibly entertaining and enlightening!
Professor Lucy Chappell from King’s College, London, blew us away at GOU in 2019 with her incredible intellect and research prowess combined with such humility and authenticity. I think we all could have listened to her all day. Well, Lucy is back!! And she has kindly agreed to close the conference for us on Friday 20th. She will walk us through Renal Disease in Pregnancy as well as what’s new in Obstetrics from the trials this year- particularly the RECOVERY trial for COVID19 in pregnant women. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have her back…and be bringing one of her mates along!
Professor Jenny Myers from the University of Manchester is one of the world’s leading preeclampsia researchers. We have all loved Jen’s talks in previous GOUs and we know this will be no exception as she covers her areas of expertise in high risk pregnancy- diabetes and hypertension. This will be a fantastic close to our conference for this year.
Professor Ben Mol, Monash University who will be covering what’s new (and controversial!) in preterm birth and Professor Adrienne Gordon, our favourite neonatologist from the University of Sydney.
