The Mercy Perinatal Global Obstetric Update is happening, back again at the beautiful Park Hyatt Melbourne from Thursday 30 November to Saturday 2 December. This year, GOU is everything that midwives, GPs and specialist need to know in clinic and in the birth suite. 

Again, we have gathered the world’s best, most eminent speakers from all around the globe. Indeed from every corner of the globe - a speaker from every continent except Antarctica!

About GOU 2017

All our speakers have a clear remit: to bring a clear, engaging and accessible summary of best practice and the international literature for clinicians at the coalface. Special events include our Global Obstetric Journal Club (what’s hot off the press this year, with off-field commentary by the formidable gathering of experts), Global Obstetric Ward Round (what progress are we making around the world) and our special Global Obstetric Mastermind. 

We are going to host all delegates to a welcome BBQ. And our conference gala dinner is an absolute must - to be held in a spectacular function room at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The conference dinner will be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday 1 December. We will dine in the lovely Olympic room with dual views of the grounds and surrounding gardens. Our conference dinners are jam-packed with live entertainment, games and lots of dancing. This year will be no different and planning is under way for an exciting night where delegates can unwind and mingle with speakers and colleagues.

Continuing Professional Development

This meeting has been approved for:

  • 21 CPD points in the Clinical Expertise/Meetings category of the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) CPD Program
  • 19 CPD hours have been allocated by the Australian College of Midwives (ACM) as an CPD Recognised Course.
  • 3-day obstetric grant for activity 110975 by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RACGP).
